SPOTLIGHT TEEN OF THE MONTH William R. William R. is a rising seventh grade student in New York. He is very active and enjoys tennis, football, art, music, basketball, golf, fishing, dirt bike riding, scuba diving, and horse back riding. William is also a scholar. He made the Principal's List each quarter last school year and plans to have another successful school year next year by making the Principal's List every quarter. William believes that every kid deserves a chance to succeed in life and every kid deserves a good education. William has put his beliefs into action by founding Kid-Too-Kid Foundation, Inc, at the age of 10. The mission of Kid-Too-Kid Foundation, Inc is to meet the fundamental needs of underserved children by providing educational supplies, art supplies, and tutoring support to children locally, nationally, and internationally. William is a regional winner of Kohl's Kids Who Care Award. He has also been recognized for his community dedication by Suffolk County Legislator Jay Schneiderman, Southampton Intermediate School Board, HYPE (Helping Young People Excel), and invited to Apollo Theatre by DoSomething.org. William has been interviewed by countless media outlets including multiple news articles in "News Day" newspaper, "Southampton Press" newspaper, and radio interviews with 92.1 WLNG and 88.3 WLIU. William makes time to encourage and support others through Peer-to-Peer Mentoring. He is also a motivational speaker. He has been a special Guest Speaker at Dowling College, Dowling Mentoring Program, J. Tobin School, Boston Massachusetts, and on a podcast on Black Media Network in North Carolina. William plans to continue to use his creativity to grow Kid-Too-Kid Foundation, Inc, by fundraising, developing an "Ambassador Program" of Kid-too-Kid Foundation, Inc. and creating a for profit company, Kid-Too-Kid Foundation, Inc clothing line. William plans to attend college after high school. |
